1) The Principal Bench of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) recently directed the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) and other authorities to implement the Vishwamitri River Action Plan, including preparation for demarcation, plantation and maintaining the integrity of the river.
➟The National Green Tribunal Act, 2010 is an Act of the Parliament of India which enables the creation of a special tribunal to handle the expeditious disposal of the cases pertaining to environmental issues.

2) The income tax department will launch a new e-filing portal on June 7, which will be integrated to immediately process returns and issue refunds.
➟ The new e-filing portal is aimed at providing taxpayer convenience and a modern, seamless experience to taxpayers.

6) The Indian Air Force will see a number of changes at the top as Air Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari has been appointed as the next Vice Chief of Air Staff in the Air headquarters.

7) The SPAG9 antigen developed by the National Institute of Immunology (NII) has received the ASPAGNIITM trademark.
➟ India’s first indigenous tumor antigen SPAG9 was discovered in 1998 by Dr. Anil Suri who heads the Cancer Research Programme at the NII.
➟National Institute of Immunology is an autonomous research institute located in New Delhi, under the Department of Biotechnology for research in immunology. NII was established on 24 June 1981, with Prof. M. G. K. Menon as Chairman of its governing body.
8) The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has decided to extend a special liquidity facility of ₹16,000 crores to the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI).

9) Noted writer and Katha Nilayam founder Kalipatnam Ramarao, popularly known as ‘Kara Mastaru’, died here on Friday due to age related ailments. He was 97. He is survived by a daughter and five sons.
➟His first short story, ‘Platform’, was published in 1943. His works such as ‘Yagnam’, ‘Kutra’, ‘Chavu’, ‘Arthi’, ‘Illu’, and ‘Santhi’ had won many a heart. His last literary work, ‘Annema Nayuralu’, was published in 2006.
10) China's People Liberation Army (PLA) has integrated elements of the air force and army to create a combined air defence system for its western theatre command that is responsible for operations along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
11) Cognizant India Chairman Rajesh Nambiar has been appointed as President, Digital Business and Technology of the US-based IT major. He succeeds Malcolm Frank, who will retire from the company with effect from September 1, 2021.
➟Nambiar will continue to hold the position of India chairman as well. Frank ceased to be an executive officer as of June 4, 2021, but will remain an employee through his retirement date of September 1, 2021 to assist with the transition, the filing noted.
12) Uttarakhand government said that 451 Health and Wellness Centre will be established in the state.
➟ Under the Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Program, a budget of Rs one crore has been approved for establishing five new dialysis centres will be established in Bageshwar, Chamoli, Champawat, Tehri, Uttarakashi district.

13) Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh RK Mathur on Friday launched the YounTab scheme for students and distributed 12,300 tablets among them virtually in Leh.
➟In the first phase of the YounTab Scheme, 9 to 12 class students are handed over Educational Tabs in Leh and Kargil.
Tab has online and offline apps along with 35 books in PDF format.

15) French novelist David Diop won the prestigious International Booker Prize for books translated into English with his World War I-set novel, At Night All Blood is Black.
